Risks, explained for you

Safety, recovery and time off work are discussed for your situation, not in general terms.

Clarity, not pressure

You leave with a clear picture and decide in your own time — or decide not to go ahead.

Frequently asked questions

What does the consultation include?

A private, in-person consultation with Dr. Anupama Chowdri: a discussion of your goals and questions, a clinical assessment, an explanation of the options that may suit you (implants or fat transfer), realistic expectations, risks, recovery, and a cost explanation for your procedure.

Why is it ₹500 online when the fee is ₹1,100?

The standard consultation fee is ₹1,100. When you pay online while booking, your slot is confirmed straight away and the fee is ₹500. It’s the same consultation with the same surgeon — paying upfront simply helps us keep appointments on time for everyone.

Is the consultation in person or online?

All consultations are in person at the clinic in Delhi. An in-person assessment is what allows Dr. Anupama Chowdri to give you advice that is genuinely specific to you.

Will I meet Dr. Anupama Chowdri herself?

Yes. Your consultation is one-to-one with Dr. Anupama Chowdri.

Where is the clinic, and when are consultations available?

The clinic is in South Delhi. The exact address and directions are shared with your booking confirmation. Consultations run Tuesday to Friday 6–8 PM, Saturday 5–7 PM and Sunday 12–2 PM (closed Mondays), by appointment only — please book at least one day ahead.

Can I reschedule or cancel?

Yes. If you let us know at least 24 hours before your appointment, you can move your booking to another available slot. Full details are in our Terms of Use, or just message us on WhatsApp.

Do I have to decide on surgery at the consultation?

Not at all. The consultation is for information and assessment only. Many people take time to think, come back with more questions, or decide not to proceed — all of which is completely fine.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. You’re welcome to bring a partner, family member or friend for support.

How should I prepare for the consultation?

Write down the questions you’d like answered, and bring a list of any medicines you take and any relevant medical reports. Comfortable, two-piece clothing makes the assessment easier.

Implants or fat transfer — which is better?

Neither is “better” in general. Implants allow a more noticeable change in size; fat transfer uses your own fat for a modest, natural increase. Which one suits you depends on your goals and an in-person assessment, which is exactly what the consultation is for.

How much does the procedure cost?

The cost depends on the technique, implant type and what’s right for you. Dr. Anupama Chowdri explains the cost for your specific plan during the consultation, with no obligation to proceed.

What is recovery usually like?

Recovery differs from person to person. As a general guide, many people need a few days off work and return to normal daily activity within about 3–5 days, with exercise usually resumed after around 3 weeks. Your own recovery plan is discussed in detail at your consultation.

Is my information kept confidential?

Yes. We only ask for your name, phone number, email and two general questions when you book. Nothing medical is collected online, and your details are used only to arrange your consultation. See our Privacy Policy.

Can I see before-and-after photos?

In line with Indian medical council guidelines, we don’t publish patient photographs or testimonials. Dr. Anupama Chowdri will discuss realistic expectations with you privately during your consultation.

Understanding your options

A clear look at how breast augmentation works

There isn’t one “best” option — only the one that suits your body, your goals and your health. Here are the main approaches your surgeon will talk through with you.

Illustration of two implant shapes

Silicone & saline implants

Silicone implants tend to feel more natural and are the most widely used; saline implants are filled with sterile salt water. The right type, shape and size are chosen with you, based on your frame and what you want.

Cross-section illustration of implant placement

How the implant is placed

An implant can sit above or beneath the chest muscle. The incision — under the breast fold, around the areola, or through the armpit — is chosen to suit your anatomy and keep scarring discreet.

Illustration of the fat transfer process

Fat transfer

This uses your own fat, gently moved from another area, for a modest and natural increase — with no implant. It suits smaller, subtle enhancements, and some of the transferred fat naturally settles over time.

Which option is right for you is a decision you and Dr. Chowdri make together, in consultation.

Honest expectations

What surgery can — and can’t — do

Realistic expectations are the foundation of a good result. We’d rather have an honest conversation now than promise something surgery cannot deliver.

What it can do

  • Increase breast size and improve proportion
  • Restore volume lost after pregnancy or weight change
  • Improve balance between the two breasts
  • Help you feel more comfortable in how clothes fit

What it can’t do

  • Promise an exact cup size or a “perfect” result
  • Create flawless symmetry — some natural difference always remains
  • Lift significantly sagging breasts on its own
  • Last a lifetime — implants may need revision in future years

“We’ll always tell you what’s realistic for your body.”

Common questions

The things people ask us most

Is breast augmentation painful?

Some soreness, tightness and swelling in the first days is normal and is managed with medication your surgeon prescribes. Most people describe it as manageable discomfort rather than severe pain, easing over the first week or two.

How long is recovery?

Many people return to desk-based work in about a week. Strenuous activity and exercise are usually avoided for four to six weeks. Swelling settles gradually, and the final result is typically visible around three to six months.

Are implants permanent?

Implants are not lifetime devices. They may need revision or replacement over ten to fifteen years or more, and sometimes sooner. Weight changes and pregnancy can also affect your result over time.

Will it affect breastfeeding or mammograms?

These are important considerations and are discussed openly in your consultation. Techniques can be chosen with these factors in mind, and you’ll receive clear guidance for future screening.

What are the risks?

As with any surgery, there are general risks such as infection, bleeding and anaesthesia-related risks. Procedure-specific ones include capsular contracture, changes in sensation, and the possibility of revision surgery. A thorough consultation and a qualified surgeon meaningfully reduce these risks — and every risk relevant to you will be explained before you decide.

How much does it cost?

Cost depends on your individual case — the approach, technique and what’s right for you. It’s discussed transparently during your consultation, with no obligation to proceed.

Can I see before-and-after photos?

In line with Indian medical council guidelines, we don’t publish or advertise patient photographs. Instead, Dr. Chowdri will discuss realistic expectations with you directly and privately in your consultation — which is a far more honest guide to what’s achievable for you.
